Something not adding up?

Alloto is made by one person, Vladimir Strycek at PortosLabs. Email is the way to reach me, and a few details up front make the fix a lot faster.

Please don’t send backup files or your financial data. I’ll never ask for them. If a backup really is needed to reproduce a bug, I’ll ask you to remove your real data from it first.

Common questions

Where is my budget stored?

Only on your phone, in a local database. There is no account, no cloud sync and no Alloto server, so PortosLabs never sees it. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I back up my budget, or move it to a new phone?

Go to Settings › Backup & restore and export a backup file. Your phone’s share sheet lets you save it wherever you like: your files, an email, a cloud drive. On the new phone, restore from the same screen and pick that file. Restoring replaces the budget on that phone.

The backup contains your financial data in readable form, so keep it somewhere you trust.

Can I export my spending to a spreadsheet?

Yes. The Reports tab exports a spreadsheet through the same share sheet.

Bill reminders show amounts on my lock screen. Can I hide them?

Turn on Settings › Notifications › Hide financial details. Reminders then use generic text, without bill names, amounts or due dates.

I changed my envelopes. Will that rewrite past months?

No. Closed months are never rewritten when you change categories.

Can I use a currency other than euro?

Yes. Alloto shows one display currency at a time, euro by default. Change it in Settings › Appearance › Currency.

How do I delete all my data?

Everything lives on your phone, so uninstalling the app removes it. Step-by-step instructions are on Deleting your data.
